This is the best transition I could come up with back to some photos of people this week. My sister invited me out to this show at the Empty Bottle last night. Ever-so-glad I went. I got to see Coins, Kip Malone and this crazy-good band, Ice Balloons--all for free. Ice Balloons is everything I could hope for in a live show: noisy, raucous, pulsing and lights from another dimension.
Camera Nerdery: Concerts are always fun. And always challenging: little to no light, what light there is is frenetically shifting, positioning is a trial and the subjects, they're moving. Maybe it's attention deficit on my part, but I prefer to be shooting at a show; I feel engaged in what's happening on a different level when I'm both listening and visually documenting. I'm so thankful for venues like the Empty Bottle that don't impose rules about camera gear. [Canon 1Ds mkIII, 85L, 1/320th, f/1.4, ISO 3200]
