Three were promised and now three there are. I could sit and look at this tank for hours. If you don't see the earlier posts, this is at Shedd Aquarium (Chicago, IL) in a small tank just to the side of the main reef tank.
Camera Nerdery: I've found that manually focusing is a natural extension from using prime lenses. The best quality at any focal length comes from using a purpose-built lens for that field of view, just as precise focus at the point of decision is better made in a joint venture between my eye and rotating, left hand. There's a heightened awareness of what I'm trying to capture when I turn off the expediency robots and do it myself. Manual exposure, manual focus...next I'll be advocating for manual white balance on the fly. [Canon 1Ds mkIII, Leica Summicron 50mm, 1/160th, f/2, ISO 1250]
