I keep forgetting to post to my photoblog now that I'm on instagram all the time. Argh. Here's a recent one. The seeds flew off this once-perfect globe just before I was focused-up and ready to go. I like it this way anyway.
PhotoNerdery: Lately I've taken to using extension tubes with the 85L for macro work. I figure the 85L has decent enough optics and the extension tubes compensate for a macro-dedicated design by cutting the minimum focusing distance. The drawbacks include the awkward weighting of a beast of a lens attached by hollow tubes and the glacial slowness of the 85L's AF. As a result, I always manually focus it. The images are pretty, though. [Canon 1Ds3, 85L, 1/250th, f/11, ISO 320]
Even when I'm not busy shooting as an affordable Chicago wedding and event photographer, I'm always taking photos.
